The short version We quote a fixed price before you travel and that is the price you pay. Tell us the full picture when you book — passengers, luggage, timings, access needs — and there will be no surprises for either of us.
1. Quotes and prices
Quotes are given free and without obligation, based on the information you give us. We aim to respond to enquiries within 30 minutes, at any hour.
- Every quote is a fixed price for the whole job — not a meter rate. It covers the vehicle, driver, mileage, an agreed waiting allowance, and any tolls or parking we have anticipated.
- The price we quote is the price you pay, provided the job runs as described when you booked it.
- Quotes are valid for 14 days unless we say otherwise, and are subject to vehicle availability until the booking is confirmed.
- If the information you gave us turns out to be materially different — many more passengers, far more luggage, a longer route, a much later finish — we will tell you what that changes before proceeding.
2. Making a booking
A booking is confirmed when we confirm it back to you in writing, by WhatsApp or email. Until then the vehicle is not held.
Ahead of the journey we will send you your driver's name and contact number. Please make sure whoever is travelling has these, particularly for early-morning airport runs.
3. Payment
Payment terms are confirmed with your quote and depend on the size and type of the job. For regular business, school and corporate work we can set up an account with invoicing rather than paying trip by trip — ask when you enquire.
Where an account is in place, invoices are payable within the agreed terms. We reserve the right to suspend account facilities where invoices remain unpaid.
4. Changes by you
Tell us as early as you can and we will do what we reasonably can to accommodate changes to timings, pick-up points or passenger numbers.
Changes that alter the job substantially — a larger vehicle, significant extra mileage, a materially longer day — may change the price. We will always tell you before carrying out the change, never after.
Additional stops requested on the day are at the driver's discretion, subject to driver hours and any onward booking, and may be chargeable.
5. Cancellation by you
Cancellation charges reflect that once a vehicle and driver are committed to your job, we have turned other work away. The charges applying to your booking are confirmed with your quote. As a general guide:
| Notice given | Typical charge |
|---|---|
| More than 7 days before travel | No charge |
| 48 hours to 7 days before travel | Part of the fare may be charged |
| Less than 48 hours before travel | A higher proportion, up to the full fare |
| No-show at the pick-up | Full fare |
Multi-day trips, peak dates and multi-vehicle bookings may carry different terms, which we will set out in writing at the time of quoting.
6. Waiting time
A reasonable waiting allowance is included in every quote and confirmed when you book.
For airport pick-ups, waiting time runs from the actual landing time rather than the scheduled one, provided you have given us the flight number. We track the flight and adjust the driver's timing accordingly.
Where you know in advance that we will need to wait — a wedding, a fixture, a day out — tell us and we will price the waiting into the quote properly, so there is nothing to settle at the end.
Waiting beyond the agreed allowance may be charged at the rate confirmed with your quote.
7. Luggage
Luggage space and passenger seats compete for the same room in a minibus. A full vehicle carrying a full set of suitcases is a different job from the same vehicle carrying hand luggage.
Please tell us what you are carrying when you book — suitcases, sports kit, instruments, golf clubs, pushchairs, wheelchairs. We will put you in the right vehicle. Undeclared luggage that does not fit is the most common cause of problems on the day, and we may not be able to carry it.
Luggage is carried at the owner's risk. Please check the vehicle before you leave it.
8. Passenger conduct
Our drivers are responsible for the safety of everyone aboard, and their decisions on safety are final.
- Seat belts must be worn where fitted. This is a legal requirement.
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted in any vehicle.
- Alcohol may be consumed on board only where agreed with us in advance.
- The driver may refuse to carry, or may end a journey, where behaviour is unsafe, abusive or illegal. No refund is due in those circumstances.
- Where soiling or damage is caused by passengers, a cleaning or repair charge may be applied.
For school and youth group travel, supervision of passengers remains the responsibility of the hiring organisation. Our driver is responsible for the vehicle and for driving it safely, not for supervising children.
9. Accessibility
Tell us about any mobility, access or medical requirement when you enquire, and we will be straight with you about what we can and cannot accommodate — including step height, folding wheelchairs, assistance boarding, and where the vehicle can realistically pull up at each end.
We would rather turn a job down than accept it and let someone down at the kerb.
10. Delays and matters outside our control
We plan journeys with sensible allowances, but we cannot guarantee arrival times where the cause is outside our control — traffic, road closures, weather, accidents, or actions of third parties.
Where a delay is caused by something outside our control, we are not liable for consequential losses such as missed flights, missed events or onward travel costs. If your journey is time-critical, tell us and we will build in a bigger margin.
11. If we have to cancel
In the unlikely event we cannot fulfil a confirmed booking — for example a vehicle breakdown or driver illness — we will do everything reasonable to source a replacement vehicle, including from another licensed operator.
If we cannot, we will tell you as soon as we know and refund what you have paid in full. Our liability in those circumstances is limited to that refund.
12. Liability and insurance
Bux Travel is a licensed PSV and private hire operator. Vehicles are maintained on a scheduled inspection programme and insured for passenger carrying. Drivers hold the licences required for the work they carry out.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Schools, colleges and corporate clients who need to see documentation before booking can request it.
13. Complaints
If something goes wrong, tell us — quickly, and in as much detail as you can. We would far rather hear about it directly than read about it later.
